"If you do what you love the struggle becomes worthwhile."

Delaware native- Dayne Avery fell in love with words at an early age. Since elementary school, he has been creating short stories, poems, songs, and plays. But, it wasn't until recently that Avery decided to make a career birthed from passion. "Find something you like doing so much you would do it for free" were wise words spoken as confirmations from friends, family, and mentors.

In 2005, he did just that, releasing his debut novel entitled I WROTE THIS SONG- a radical departure from a previous background in graphic design. Avery compiled a labor of love into book form, following in the footsteps of great writers like James Baldwin, Essex Hemphill, and Langston Hughes.

Since its debut, I WROTE THIS SONG has received steadily increasing attention. The novel has been featured in magazines such as Clik, and Ballroom Rock-star, numerous websites, and won the 2005 "National Best Fiction by a SGL Author"(Urban Spectrum Magazine).
